Lemon laws were established to help protect the consumer against the purchase of a bad product. If you are looking to buy a car in a dealership or from a private owner, you have some laws that protect you. once the seller says that the car works fine, he or she is bound to those words. If you drive the car, straight out of that dealership, and it brakes down on the way home, chances are that the car was not in good shape to begin with. You were sold a lemon!!!
The seller of a car wether a dealer or a private owner, is bound to the truth of his or hers statements. Describing the cars condition must be accurate and with out any embellishments.. Lemon laws were introduced for this purpose. They protect the consumer from dishonest purchases, siding the law on the side of the consumer. Each state has it's own lemon laws that may be different from the other States. Before purchasing a product one must find out about the lemon laws in that particular state and understand the protection the law gives.
We have rights and if we are wronged there are those who can voice our grievance. Lemon law attorneys can make the difference between losing everything or redeeming what is rightfully yours. Attorneys are in the business of law and are better equipped in dealing with crooks. They can represent a case in court using the language of the law. A letter from an attorney may scare a crook and show that you are serious. It may show your determination to stand for your rights and not be made a sucker. Although attorneys cost money, they may prove to be a wise investment in such a case.
Knowing the law gives you power. The power to protect yourself in a dangerous world full of people that are not as honest as you. Know how the lemon laws work in the state you live in. Research them on your states web site or contact a good attorney.
